Forest, Environment, disaster management and Climate Change (वन वातावरण विषद व्यवस्थापन र जलवायु परिवर्तन)

Climate change has become a global challenge and Nepal is no exception to this despite its negligible contribution in the emission of green-house gases. Climate change has negative impact in traditional pattern of agriculture, livestock farming leading to increment of invasive species, degradation of environmental purity and overall ecosystem has disturbed. In this scenario, to address the negative impact of climate change, the organization has implemented projects in collaboration with various development partners in forest protection and management, disaster preparedness to mitigate the adverse impact of climate change. The organization contributed in the formation of community forestry user committee, training and capacity building of communities, forest plantation, scientific management of forest, promotion of forest-based enterprise for income generation of poor and vulnerable households. In addition, the organization has also contributed in disaster management by mobilizing and managing local resources. The organization has made significant contribution in preparing and implementing local adaptation plan for action (LAPA), community-based adaptation plan (CBAP), community-based disaster response and management plan (CBDRM) to address the climate change impacts in rural communities.
