Brief Description of the Project:
The primary objective of the project is to develop Local Adaptation Plans for Action (LAPA) in Tribeni Rural Municipality (Wards 5, 6, and 7) and Rolpa Municipality (Ward 6) within Rolpa District. This initiative aims to support local governments in planning and implementing activities focused on climate change adaptation and mitigation, enabling them to effectively respond to the challenges posed by climate change. |
Major outcomes achieved/ Implementation Success
- Conducted comprehensive consultation meetings at both ward and municipal levels, involving representatives and community members to assess the vulnerability status of each cluster.
- Employed methodologies including Vulnerability and Capacity Assessment (VCA), Focus Group Discussions (FGD), and Key Informant Interviews (KII) to identify vulnerable households and determine priority actions through collaborative group action planning.
- Gathered and analyzed primary and secondary data on six key themes as outlined by the National Adaptation Programme of Action (NAPA).
- Compiled data and developed a tentative budget for the identified priority actions, ensuring a well-rounded approach to addressing vulnerabilities.
- Developed and finalized seven Local Adaptation Plans of Action (LAPA) based on the consultations and data collected.
- Submitted the LAPAs to the ASHA Project district office for review and implementation.
