Brief Description of the Project:
The GESI mainstreaming and planning workshop aimed to ensure that successful practices in GESI integration are replicated in future planning, and areas needing improvement are addressed through concrete measures in local government strategies. The Social Development Department will take primary responsibility for managing GESI issues, working closely with other departments due to the integrated nature of the task. Key core areas where marginalized groups should be directly included in GESI-related projects and activities include agriculture, education, health, employment, capacity building and awareness, gender-based violence reduction, and infrastructure development.
Major outcomes achieved/ Implementation Success:
  • Preparation of GESI Strategic Plans: GESI strategic plans have been developed for 10 local governments.
  • Approval and Commitment: All local governments have approved the GESI strategy and committed to its implementation.
  • Future Implementation: Municipal representatives have pledged that future programs will align with the GESI strategy.
  • Publication: The prepared GESI strategies have been posted on the office's website.
