Brief Description of the Project:
The project aimed to enhance agricultural activities by transitioning towards commercial production in collaboration with local authorities and the Agricultural Knowledge Center (AKC). By leveraging available resources and implementing social mobilization efforts, the project provided capacity-building and skill-based training to farmer groups. Additionally, it supported vegetable farming by supplying inputs and introducing climate-smart innovative technologies.
Major outcomes achieved/ Implementation Success:
  • The project facilitated the construction of three cemented ponds, providing irrigation access to 200 group members, significantly enhancing their agricultural productivity.
  • As part of the capacity-building efforts, the project delivered nursery management training to 10 farmer groups, with 20 participants in each group, focusing on improved farming practices.
  • Farmers were equipped with climate-smart technologies, including 10 rolls of mulching plastic, plastic houses, and 25 crates to support marketing efforts. Additionally, the groups received training in market management to improve their access to and success in local markets.
